From a Dog to a Cat

Hello, Witten! My name is Bonita. I'm a 3 year old Golden Retriever/ Yellow Labrador mixed girl and I love kitties! You see, my puppy raisers had 12 cats and so when I was just a baby, I thought I was one of them. I learned Felinese before I learned Canidian and I speak it without an accent.

I have a very important job. I am a guide for my mistress, Phoenix Renee. She can't see, not even in the dark, so I have to take her places and watch out for cars and steps and curbs and low branches and all kinds of stuff. I think she also needs me because she doesn't smell like I do! Just yesterday I was at a tree, reading the news. A big German Shepherd had chased a smaller dog across the lawn, then they played with each other. Then the smaller dog (he smelled like a Corgi or Chihuahua mix) found a dead robin (it had been dead for three days!) and I was following the story along when Phoenix Renee pulled on my leash and said "Come on, Bonnie! There's nothing here! Stop sniffing that old grass!"

I was JUST at the part where the Shepherd was rolling on the robin and the Chihuahua or Corgi was peeing on the hedge, and she said there was nothing there?! Does Cora do that to you? Anyway, I would love to be your friend. I would keep your litterbox clean every day and even catch a bird for you if you wanted one... I'm descended from a long lineage of bird dogs, on both sides of my family!

Uh oh... I have to go. Phoenix Renee wants to go to the mall. Time to harness up and go to work. Sniff Cora's bottom for me and I'll sniff Phoenix Renee's for you!

P. S. I would never never ever EVER chase a cat EVER! I love cats! Even when they don't understand and scratch my nose! I still love them. I wish I was a cat. But then I couldn't work, so I'm glad I'm a dog who likes cats.
