Lachlan: I am responding on my brother's behalf, Cora, because I will not allow him to read your response. If you are interested, he is in his room right now, crying. You tore a wound open in him that is larger than you could possibly imagine, even with all you have been through. If you think he told it to you merely to gain pity you are very seriously wrong. You accused him of speaking without knowledge and he responded to you, that was all.
Lachlan: Tai's involvement in this issue was my fault - not his and I am deeply sorry that I ever asked him to message you. Had I known....
I am certain you are right, that Kaine did feel rejected by Shiki. Tai was not disputing your viewpoint on that. What I wanted him to show to you, and I believe he was faithful in doing so, was the fact that what Kaine felt was not what Shiki meant. There are two sides, after all, to every situation and in this case you did not take the time to listen to Shiki's. This I understand, since it is Kaine with whom you are friends, but I hoped you might see the other side if another gay male were to present it to you. Obviously, I was wrong.
While Kaine's situation may have surface similarities to your own, my friend, it really is not the same. They are both new to the physical act, as well as the emotional one I will warrant. Probably both are unsure of the other, whereas only one, in your case, is wavering.
Your avid defense of a friend is what makes you so loved by so many of us, and why I am not angry with you for what has happened, you would not be Cora if you did not feel so deeply for so many.
Let me clarify something, however, on Tai's relationship with Naoki. Tai is not rejected by Nao-chan. At this time Naoki is not being asked or even expected to understand Tai's love. No one has ever mentioned it to him because all we care about right now is helping Naoki to discover who he really is. To Tai, even attempting to make Naoki know about his love would be like molesting a small child, which in many ways is what Nao-chan is. Tai would sooner castrate himself than harm an innocent. He knows only too vividly what that means. I wonder...did he tell you he was only 14 when he was raped by an 18 year old?
Sigh...Tai was not calling you a whore. If he wanted to, he would have; my brother does not believe in pulling his punches. Was he implying that you, in the past at least, have had a tendancy to take many lovers? Yes, I'd say that would be an accurate interpretation. I think, given what he has told you, you can understand why he finds it extremely hard to be intimate with others and has a limited number of lovers. You may not be aware of this fact, but our father is rather reknowned for spreading his favors among many, many women...Tai has no wish to emulate this behavior either, as he dispises our father, so perhaps he is a little more harsh towards it than he needs to be.

Lachlan: Cora, I hope you will not be angry with me for speaking as I have. You must understand that Tai is my most beloved brother and I will protect him most fiercely if I must.
Devon: (clearly clueless as to what is going on) I'll attest to that!
Lachlan: I hope too, that you will forgive me for having started all of this most unintentionally by asking him to message you on that topic. I should have simply shared my opinion with you myself and then all of this could have been avoided.
(realizing that he's walked into something he's not involved in, Devon starts playing with Lachlan's hair)
Lachlan: Nex, I ask you to forgive me for my hiding your final response from Tai. It would only upset him further to know you have still misunderstood him, and I will not allow that to happen.
Lachlan: And lastly, I ask you to forgive me because I have written to your Vincent and told him to "put up or shut up" with regards to you. When your anger with him drives you to hurt others then the situation has truly gone too far.
Devon: Whew, whoever this Vincent is, if my Lachlan told him off I feel sorry for him!
Lachlan: I took this step as a friend, Cora. Please remember that.
