Brushes some more of the remnants out of the way. "You see, it's much easier to learn to summon something, if you summon something you relate to, on a basic level. Hmm...how to make sense of this...For instance I have an affinity with fire and both Nemi and Zuko are fire elementals. Some have an affinity to a specific aspect of an element.
Miss Kalena (I'm not sure if you've met her yet) is not a strong summoner but her affinity is with the earth element, however she is more closely aligned to green things and plants. Typically she can only summon a few lilies at a time.
Now, my sister Lael is strongly aligned with water elements but also has a secondary affinity with air elements. Because of this she can summon elementals from either realm or even elementals created from the merging of the two realms.
Like I mentioned before, my primary affinity is with fire, however if I continue with my studying I should be able to gain a basic affinity with any element, and thus be able to summon any elemental at any time for what ever reason. It's been a very long time since anyone has been able to do this, but I feel this is mainly do to a loss of the art and not as much to do with a lack of talented summoners.
Now, your lessons shall be first to discover your element, and second a proper set of robes. Robes aren't just a fashion statement, they actually have a great amount of purpose. First and foremost being protection against explosions. Believe me, things will end up exploding.
