Lachlan: Look, Iago - we got a package from Cora! Well, it has to be from Cora, who else would put kitty stickers all over it *Lachlan laughs happily*
*Iago flops on the envelope and sniffs deeply*
Iago: Mroooora!!! Mrattin!!!
Lachlan: Of course it would be from Witten too! You are the jealous one.
*Lachlan opens the envelope and Iago, being a cat, does what any cat confronted with an open envelope would do*
Lachlan: Iago! Get out of there before you damage something!
Lachlan: *looks at Iago tangled in the blanket and sighs* Too late. Well don't struggle, you might stretch the stitches and I'll be very angry with you.
Iago: *very contritely* mraa
Lachlan: Here's a note from Cora! Oh yes, Angiwyn did do a beautiful job on this - it's so soft and the colors are just beautiful! I can't wait to snuggle in it later with Iago.
Iago: mramra Mravon mrrr
Lachlan: *blushes* I'm sure Devon has better things to do, Iago.
Lachlan: Thank you so much Cora! I'll treasure this gift from you always - if I can get Iago out of it *laughs*
*suddenly someone jumps nearby them, startling Iago who stands up - his fur poofing out as he hisses and growls*
Lachlan: Oh! Well, you're getting braver.
*the new person flops down nearby, clearly wishing to touch the blanket, but nervously aware of Iago's flexing claws and deep hissing*
Lachlan: Calm down, Iago, he just wants to be friends, not fight with you. TAI, can you come and get Naoki before Iago bites him!
*Iago keeps hissing*
*Naoki whines a little and stays on a level lower than the cat, trying to look as non-threatening as possible*
Tai: I'm sorry Lach, I thought he was sleeping nearby. Stop having a hissy-fit Iago, he doesn't want to hurt you or Lachlan.
Tai: Come here, Nao-chan, you're scaring the wimpy cat.
*this time Iago's hiss is directed at Tai*
*making a noise that sound suspiciously like a bark, Naoki throws himself happily into Tai's lap*
Tai: Silly thing *Tai smiles softly as he hugs Naoki in return*
Tai: Hi Cora! You haven't met our new friend yet, because we just found him a few days ago. We call him Naoki. It's not his real name, we don't know what that is or if he even has one. It seems that Naoki is a bit like you, he doesn't know his past or where he came from and he can't even speak or write, though he does understand us.
*With Naoki moved away, Iago's fur settle and he curls up in the blanket again - steadfastly ignoring the unwelcome intruder*
Tai: I guess I've sort of become his caretaker for now *laughs* until he can take care of himself better. He really is a lot like you, Cora; innocent, kind, eager to make friends...but not pink - definitely not pink *laughs again and Lachlan laughs with him, happy to see her brother have a purpose in his life*
Tai: We're talking to Lachlan's friend Cora, Naoki. She'll see if you wave to her.
*Naoki smiles, showing very pronounced, though not vampirish, canines. Eagerly he waves towards the camera and woofs as his tail wags in the background*
Lachlan: I've seen what is going on right now Cora and I weep for the pain you are in because of your friend, Vaieh's pain. I will admit though, I don't understand it all very well... I think that Locke is lucky to have people care for him so much, since he doesn't seem to have done a lot to deserve their devotion.
Tai: *blows a kiss to the camera* That's for Vincent! That was a splendid, and may I add very sexy move of his belting Locke. If he weren't the man you were dreaming of Princess, I'd have to put some moves on him myself!
Lachlan: Taihen!
Tai: Just kidding *whispers* maybe.
*Naoki's tail has flipped across Iago's space, the soft twitching hairs fascinating the previously upset kitty*
*Iago starts to play with the tail, deciding that while he may not care for the entire being, the tail is a very nice toy indeed.*
Iago: mra mmmmrraaama mra ma rramaowa
Tai: I hope it doesn't hurt you to hear this, Princess, but I'm afraid Luis has never responded to me. I know you've forgiven him, but I'm not ready to yet. For someone of his age to abandon a friend...
Lachlan: Tai, leave it be. Cora has plenty of better friends - she isn't alone. *laughing* and what more can she desire when she has Prince Witten there to protect her? Take care Cora, and remember that your emotions will be felt by your baby, so try to stay calm and happy, even though that may not always be easy.
Tai: Take care Princess!
*Iago is too absorbed in chasing Naoki's tail to pay attention, and Naoki has fallen asleep with Tai's lap as his pillow*
